Looking for a personal chef....

Hey everyone,
I'm a 23 year old recent college graduate and while I love to cook and have been doing so for my family for awhile I am moving out (our house is in northern nj and i'm heading back to nyc) to start "my life" and am looking to find some way that healthy and homecooked meals can still be available to my family at home. My mom passed away 9 months ago and since then its been a real struggle to try and pick up the pieces and not let my younger brother or dad eat pizza and cereal all the time. I have delayed moving out for this long in order to try and help out with things like cooking and food shopping but I really have to begin working and would love to find a solution. Ideally I would want someone who could come by the house just 2-3 times a week and prepare a meal and make enough for left overs the following night. Additionally if this person were willing to do some light grocery shopping that would be a huge help as well. My family is pretty easy to please, pasta dishes, chicken, salad, an occasional steak is really all it takes, I just know that when I'm gone my brother is too busy with homework and my dad works too late to be bothered with making a well balanced meal.

Does anyone have any suggestions of where to turn, or even anyone they know who would be interested in this type of job???? I was thinking a culinary student would even do the trick as long as they were good enough.

any thoughts???
thanks,

zoe

Try the APPCA (American Personal and Private Chefs Association) their members actually have a certification requirement supported by the ACF.

You can search for a Personal Chef here http://www.personalchefsearch.com/

Since these Personal Chefs are certified you can be sure that health/safety standards are followed etc.
