Refreshing cocktails....

I'm mostly a wine drinker, but decided to dip into the gin and come up with something new in this heat. This may sound strange, but it was actually quite refreshing and tasty!

spot aromatic bitters
slice of lemon
slice of cucumber
slice of fresh ginger (skin on)
Bombay saphire gin
crushed ice

Simply poured, not shaken... however I did let it "marinate" for 10 minutes before I tasted -- wanted to get all that flavor extraction.

Cheers! S

Took out cucumber, added local watermelon I froze last night. Oh yeah, that's what I'm talkin about :lips:

Looking forward to some lovely summer beverages tonight!

the best:
hendricks gin
touch of dry vermoth
shake it

a gin so refreshing, you can ditch the vermoth

a fav:
pimms
gin
tonic
cucumber

Also a fan of :
sweet vermouth
rye

I'm with you, only I can barely deal with gin anymore, Grey Goose, a wisp of noilly pratt, and three petite olives. Also shaken.

Gin... never again since a rather difficult episode in college.

Grey Goose- I'm with you, Cape Chef. Walk the vermouth past the bottle, add the olives (three is my preference), and I'm good to go. :D With lesser vodka I like a dirty martini. Three BIG olives.

While I always like sweet drinks, in summer they aren't refreshing to me- too much sugar leaves me thirsty.
