I may be misunderstanding.
i'm thinking of what makes me smile while sitting at a breakfast table in a hotel. My expectations low and I'm pleasantly surprised that there is a butter dish with a big chunk of butter in it. A bowl full marmalade. and a cup of freshly brewed coffee to my right. So far no plastic, individually wrapped jams, butters.
Then comes the full Scottish. Bacon, mushrooms, sausage, square sausage, black pudding etc. Grilled. NOT DEEP FRIED. Hot plate
I dont eat breakfast unless we're away from home and i look forward to it, with as mentioned, low expectations. Always makes me smile when i see it done nicely

Fruity dipping oil, herbs and crusty bread. Take it away from me or I will not eat my dinner.
Something other than "bread" offered in the bread basket. We frequent a restaurant in ATL called South City Kitchen. They offer small southern-style biscuits and small seeded crusty rolls. There are also very long, crispy "crackers" in the basket. What temptation!
