I effed my left hand tonight and well... OWWWWWIE! I was wearing crocs in the rain and I slipped and fell and landed on my left hand. I had it checked out and nothing is broken but OMFG it hurts! Good thing we have lots of ppl in for the morning!

Slip and fall is the #1 injury in the professional kitchen, according to the NRA (restaurants, not guns).

Hopefully it's not raining in the kitchen. Then again I worked in a few fish houses in Fl that I thought might float away in a good storm.
Sorry to hear about the fall. My wife tripped and fell on a sidewalk this spring. She was sore for weeks.

I think the most wonderful thing in the world is another chef. I'm always excited about learning new things about food.

UPDATE!!

Tonight at home I was helping dh move some things in the basement and I lost my balance and fell. Our basement floor is very uneven (our house is over 150 years old) and as it turned out I broke my arm in a few places as a result of my fall. There is a clean break at my elbow and four jagged breaks along the rest of my arm towards my wrist. I also broke my thumb, index and middle fingers in the fall. I'm looking at a cast for 16 weeks at this point. I can still work but of course on modified duties.

at my (outdoor) wedding reception, i drank too much (2 bottles of wine, a bottle of champagne, and a bottle of three floyds dark lord russian imperial stout), tried to dance to the song black betty, landed sideways on my foot and tore three ligaments in my ankle. i tell ya, my "honeymoon" sucked after that. used the whole week and a half vacation recuperating on the couch.
