Here's what I got in from my friends in Durham:

Chapel Hill is chock full of foodie goodness. The BBQ Joint on Weaver Dairy road is incredible. They catered our wedding. Lantern on Franklin St. is considered one of the coolest bars and best restaurants in town. The two are separate so you can have a pretty casual meal in the bar, or a nicer meal in the dining room. I've never been dissappointed there. Crook's Corner on Franklin St. has a great outdoor brunch on Sundays. Acme in Carrboro is supposed to be fantastic. Panzanella at Weaver St. can be great or mediocre Italian food, but it's very affordable and they use lots of local product. I've heard rave reviews about a new French place on Franklin St. called Bonne Soiree. It's pretty pricey, I think, but wonderful. I'll see what else I can come up with.
Ciao,
