Lantern is closed until Mon for vacation....I looked up their site and the menu is exciting.
Sat at market looks like a killer! Saturday, September 9, 9 AM - Local Chef's Event - This year's theme is Picnic Food: Menus with a Taste. 7 local chefs will create a menu for a picnic and prepare one dish for all to taste using Market ingredients. Recipes provided. Participating chefs are: David Alworth of 411 West, Sara Foster of Foster's Market, Shane Ingram of Four Square, Bret Jennings of Elaine's on Franklin, Damon Lapas of the Barbecue Joint, Andrea Reusing of Lantern Restaurant, and Bill Smith of Crook's Corner.
Elaine's has sweet potato brulee with zucchini cake donuts....how great is that!!!
Mama Dips has sweet potato biscuits, is open BLD 7 days and has chittlins' and chicken/dumplings, greens, pie etc.....
I have been to Weaver St. Market and it is exceptional. Plan to visit again.
Crooks Corner has a couple things that have peaked my interest.
Oh, this is going to be a REALLY fun foodie trip! I'll share.
