Martinellis makes some good carbonated apple juices. Thin with water and give a squeeze of lemon to add some tartness.
Here in Salt Lake City you can get Apple Beer, a pleasant brewed apple juice based soda.
I also make a similar carbonated apple punch for lack of a better term based on a carbonated apple juice with lemon I enjoyed in Germany.
1 12 oz can of apple juice concentrate, thawed. I prefer the shelf stable variety from Welchs as I don't have to wait for it to thaw.
Lemon flavored mineral water, unsweetened, chilled; enough to properly dilute the apple juice concentrate, usually 48 ounces.
Angostura bitters to taste, about 1/2-1 teaspoon.
Mix the apple juice concentrate and bitters in the mixing pitcher. Pour in the mineral water along the side of the pitcher in the manner you draw a draft beer to minimize the head (and carbonation loss). Mix gently in a manner to minimize carbonation loss. Enjoy immediately. |
