Going out to a restaurant on New Years v. staying home and cooking a wonderful meal.
Granted...it took hubby and I about 4 hours combined to cook our New Year's Eve dinner (which we enjoyed every minute of our menu):
Empenadas
Mixed Greens with Pears, Pecans
and Gorgonzola
Sauté of Julienned Garden Vegetables
Potato-Mushroom Gratin
Steamed Lobster
Cheftalk Crab Cakes (thank you Maryeo!)
with Roasted Red Bell Pepper Sauce
Blood Orange Crème Brulee
but I talked to several friends and relatives this am from all over the country who went out last night and didn't have great service or the best food...which is why we stopped going out on New Years.
