Default Update: Diet Coke Plus

Here's an update on Diet Coke Plus... per a recent newspaper article, the folks over at Coke pretty much admit that "the soda isn't expected to be a top seller but they believe it will help revive interest in the Diet Coke trademark." Interesting strategy.

One of the big reasons I like Diet Coke is its less sweet. Most beverages in this market are way too sweet. Pepsi especially.

Have you tried Diet Coke Plus yet? The folks I've talked to who are die-hard Diet Coke drinkers also think Diet Coke Plus is much sweeter than the flagship drink. I was just curious what others thought. (The same is often said about Coca-Cola Zero).

Do you think that a sweeter drink is a good thing or bad thing in the marketplace?

I'd prefer a range of less sweet drinks, particularly that aren't marketed as diet. Let them stand on their own merits.

I've not tried DC Plus. My doctor requires that I eschew caffeine and I've not noticed a Caffeine Free version on the shelves--not that I've looked. Nor am I looking for vitamins in my Coke.

The Caffiene Free DC is different from regular DC. It lacks a certain pleasant harshness, often described as a mild burning when swallowed.
