Space negotiation ****

the continuing saga of putting together a commercial kitchen for rent..

I had my web site, my logo and really felt committed to this business. Now it was time to find a space to rent. I figured it would be easy - find some old restaurant for lease, get it, fix it up and open! No problem. At the time it was October and I thought I could be open in time for Christmas. I was so very wrong.

I started looking online. There is a web site called LoopNet that has commercial space...

Week #4

This week, for Basic Cookery, we made two different stocks--white and brown. Really basic stuff. (I think I have made gallons and gallons of stock in my life at home.)

Even though some of the items that we are preparing in Basic are...well...basic, I do still end up learning something new. Sometimes the material covered seems a little too elementary. But again, I really do come out of each class with some new tips/techniques that I did not know previously.

An afternoon in Savannah, GA
We keep going back to Savannah, after all, when was the last time we have witnessed a city built in 1773!… Quite a few moons ago. Busy on the weekend, much nicer during the week and much easier to find any kind of parking space. Hunting Island State Park, SC
It is a fine Park well worth visiting with a beautiful Lighthouse and beaches, so serene and peaceful, specially off season. A day trip from Tybee Island, it was just Spirit and I and the camera.
