Tea with milk and sugar poured into the saucer to cool with crackers and peanut butter in my grandmothers Tide scented kitchen.

St Simon Island… GA

Week #3

Finally got into the kitchen this week.

For basic cookery, all we did was peel a few vegetables and learned some cuts. However, I do wish that we could have more time in the kitchen. We keep running out of time because the Chef's lectures go way off on tangents--which then cuts into our kitchen time. But the Chef is thoughtful and wants to see us do well and will therefore provide us with attention as needed.

However, for Garde Manger, we got straight to work...

More pictures from the reenactment as the firing of the cannon is always a favorite… kids will be kids you know. Spirit did not like it too much as it was the first time he was in proximity of one. Tried to keep him away as much as possible…

Colonial Faire & Muster, GA
An unusual event, for us anyhow. The 10th Annual Colonial Faire and Muster, reenactment day, a celebration of the founding of the Colony of Georgia at Savannah, on February 12th 1733 by James Evans Oglethorpe. Spirit and I rode there, pursuit by a fanatic reader hanging out of the window of a fast moving van… Mike Justice, “Driller” on the ADV Riders Forum… obviously a dentist… Great day…
