Default Campfire steaks

On some cooking show, which one I'm not sure, the host threw a steak directly on the hot (wood) coals in a campfire.

I can't say that I was really eager to try it. But one night I was sitting around the firepit with a friend of mine having some beers. I went in for a couple more and saw the rib roast I was going to cook the next day. Hmmmm...I sliced two chunks off and threw them directly into the hot hot coals of the fire. It quickly sizzled...I turned them cooking just a touch longer and then served on a plate.

These were actually quite tasty! Although I would advise plating the steaks in a little bit of light. That way you could be sure that there aren't any large chunks of wood on the underneath of the steak.

enjoy!
