Default chive flower jelly

Anyone ever tried making chive flower jelly, I'd never even heard of it until this past saturday. They opened the Farmers market a week early, and I happened to be in the area so I went and checked out what was there this early, and wound up getting a chive plant for my herb garden, which is almost completed, just need a couple of more starter plants, too early for basil, and I want to plant some oregano as well. Anyway, back to the topic, when I got the chive plant, it has all these little buds on it, and the lady told me that the plant was ready to flower, and she told me that I could pinch the flowers off when they bloomed and make a jelly out of them. I'm just curious how this is done, 'cause it sounds interesting.

You can use the blossoms the same ways you use the stems. Just pick some florettes off and eat some... They're beautiful sprinkled on top of a salad.

There are numerous herb jelly recipes out there, just substitute the chive blossoms.

Also, check out Chive Flower Recipes here and here.
