| This is the first time we ever tried growing herbs. When we were at the greenhouse looking at flowers and vegies I noticed they had an assortment of herbs and they smelled so good. I asked the wife what she thought about trying some. We agreed and came home with Chives, Parsley, Sage, Oregano and Rosemary. My question is, do you need to dry them before their used or do some recipes call for them to be used fresh and some dryed. If you dry them how do you do that? Sun or Dehydrator? |

| You can use herbs either fresh or dried. Dried herbs tend to be stronger than fresh herbs by about 3X so adjust your recipes accordingly. As for drying, if you want to keep a nice green color then dry out of direct sunlight. We hang ours in the rafters of our garage for about a week, usually in Aug. This does well. Hang in medium sized, loose bunches so that the air can circulate through them.
