Default Lemons.

From I sit I thought I had about a dozen lemons ready to pick from my little lemon tree, only waist high. When I got out there with the snippers I took 21 from the tree. Brave little tree. The lime isn't doing so well, I shall have to watch it.

Congratulations! Why variety of lemon is it? What are your plans for the fruit and/or juice?

It is a meyer mezzaluna, I was silly, I should have put in a Lisbon at the same time. Citrus is just falling from the trees here, driving past you can see trees absolutely laden, and know they will never be used. The first thing anyone used to do in the older suburbs was plant citrus, plums, peach, apples and pear. But that is not so common now. People do not preserve and make jams, jellies as they used to. A great pity I think. In each house I have moved to I have always planted citrus. I always know I will not be there to see the years of fruit, but I always think how I would love to come an established citrus grove. So do it for people coming on.

I use it for all the obvious things, and pour it to ice cube trays. Useful. Nothing gives me more pleasure than an avocado, a lemon and a teaspoon.
