Default Plants with baby orange-like fruits on it?

I'm not sure if anyone out there can help me. I've been working in an office where they have numerous plants that I have to water. Today I came accross one plant resembling a tomato plant, with these little orange fruits growing off of it. I picked one of them and cut it open. It smelled slightly citrus, but upon putting my tongue up to it, found out that it was very sour tasting. I didn't want to eat it, for fear of death-by-baby-orange.
Can anyone tell me what on earth this plant is? I'd really appreciate anyone with some incite.
Thank you!!

Kumquats?

Or maybe it's just an ornamental plant?

Check this site, ADF, and see if this is what you have.

The fruit looks just like those in the website, but the leaves are more like a tomato plant. It's alright, I was just curious.
Thanks for your help!

Hi adf777,

Not sure about the tomato leaf resemblance. Have you looked at Naranjilla? If this is it, I suspect you harvested too early.
