Michelle,

This beautiful two volume set is currently being reviewed and will be posted on ChefTalk very shortly.

I did briefly leaf through the books and they are exhaustive to say the least. Definetly worth the investment in my opinion.

Post Cambridge Wold History of Food

I am thinking of making the investment. Does anyone have this yet? It looks great! Maybe I will wait and request it as a graduation present

Have you also seen The Oxford Companion to Food? Only 1 volume, a bit pricey, but what a great read! The articles are well researched, yet concise, providing any conceivable background info you could desire. Nice botanical drawings, too.
