Wink Older Larousse???

I've found an old edition(1961) of Larousse Gastronomique for $28.00 and a new copy for $80.00. My question is for a home reference will the old edition be ok or would I be better off with the the new one.

One of the difference I noticed between newer and older editions is that they seem to be removing some of the historical entries or make them shorter.

Thanks Iza,
If that is the case maybe I'd rather have the older edition.

Debin,
You're better off going with the older version. The later revisions are politically correct. That leaves a lot out!

I have both the old and the new. The old one is well-worn, even a bit dirty, and lives in my kitchen. The other one is barely used. Buy the old one. It's a classic and answers lots more deep background, historical questions.
