Tongue Hey! Guess What Book I Just Purchased For Only $12.00!

It's a book that has been on my wishlist for a very long time at Amazon. One of my friends was willing enough to take me to the nearest town for appointments I had to keep today and after we were done with these, I asked if we could go to a bookstore as there were some culinary books I wanted to see. To my great surprise, I saw "The Escoffier Cookbook: A Guide To The Fine Art Of Cookery" on the shelves for only $12.00! The price tag said it was originally $24.00 but it was on sale when I bought it! Does anyone have this book? If so, what are your insights, comments, etc., on the book? All responses to this thread are greatly appreciated! hehe

Cool

I bought that book last summer, when I picked up my copy of the Larousse Gastronomique. it's definetly an interesting book, but I found that most of the recipes have no ingredient amounts, therefore making it difficult to prepare a dish that you haven't made before. I got a great deal on my books as well, I paid $10 for the Larousse, and $6 for the Escoffier, mind you the books had obviously been in someone's attic or basement for atleast 20 years, 'cause they aren't in the best shape in the world.
