| I remember seeing these products on TV last year; I gave some long and serious thoughts to them, but unfortunately, at the time, I didn't have a job and no money. Now that I do, I'd like some advice and input on these things which fascinate me so much before I spend money on something I might regret later on for having bought. Has anyone ever heard of it or bought it? It's the Showtime Rotisserie and Barbecue invented by Ron Popeil. I remember there were chefs watching him in his show while he was cooking on his rotisserie machine. Is it worth it to spend money on this thing? You can go check it out at the website at: Ronco Showtime Rotisserie . Please check out the website and let me know what you think.I greatly appreciate everyone's time and attention to this request and I eagerly look forward to all comments! |

| Afra, set it and forget it. Purchase the same item at EBAY for a substantial discount. Always check with ebay, it's like an online flea market where things sell cheaper. Oh and one more thing. Was the audience composed of chefs or were they actually people taken off of the street who were dressed in aprons distributed by Ron himself. Caveat emptor. Beware. ![]() [ September 06, 2001: Message edited by: kokopuffs ] |

| Thanks for your advice, Kokopuffs! From what I remember, the audience looked like it was composed of real chefs. But how can you tell when there's "real" chefs in there and there's fake ones? I watched this Rotisserie show three years ago so I can't really recall the whole picture I saw. But I do remember seeing people dressed as chefs. I was so fascinated watching Ron show the audience how to use the rotisserie products that I never paid that much attention to the audience. Any advice from this point, anyone? Thanks so much in advance! |

| Afra, I think of appliances like the rotisserie as an "extra". It might be nice to have but it's not a basic staple appliance that has many uses. What sort of appliances do you have in your kitchen already? If you don't have a blender or food processor yet, you may want to get those before buying the rotisserie. A blender can make smoothies, blend sauces and some soups. and a food processor can mince veggies, make emulsions, and even mix bread and pasta doughs. These are items in my kitchen that are always on the counter because they are used so frequently. I think too often people buy items off of infomercials without thinking them thru, and they end up collecting dust. Before you buy determine what kind of use this item wil get and if it is worth the money. Let us know what you decide. ![]() [ September 10, 2001: Message edited by: Svadhisthana ]
