which oven is better for all around use gas or electric ?

I personally loved my gas stove, even though it was a cheap model. I felt I had better control of the heat with it. Unfortunately, my new home came with a glass top electric stove which is on the high end of the spectrum. It's ok, but it's just not my gas stove. Hope this helps.

For an oven, I prefer electric. For the stove I like gas. For an all-in-one range, pay the premium for a dual fuel gas oven and electric cook-top.

What phatch said.
Electric ovens regulate heat more consistently than gas.
Gas stove tops allow for quicker adjustment of heat than electric.
I hate making rice on an electric top.
Oh, and Jiffy Pop on an electric makes my skin crawl.
