I'm a personal chef and, being fairly new to it, am wondering about purchasing a portable induction cooktop. Have never used one and would like to benfit from everyone's experience on here. Is it worth the $$$ (about $150 - $250), is it truly "portable" and will I find enough use for it. Let me know!

We use where I am and I can tell you they work well, and yes they are portable.

You will see that once you get used to the temperature settings, you will wonder how you ever did without one. I think the price is right for the amount of time you save on cooking.
Make sure all your prep work is done before you get going....
Portable, you can put it anywhere.

Back before they turned our fine dining restaurant into a poker room, I pulled shifts there.
The first thing I did was get one of those so that my second could saut'e veggies, instead of stand there and watch me do everything until it was time to plate.
Great tool. (the induction cooktop, not the cook).
