Post My first day in school

Well my first day was a day of meeting people and getting all rules and regulations under our belts.
It looks like there are about 90 men (boys) and about 10 women.
Iam just so excited it is finally happening.
Can you believe I already have a homework assignment.
It seemed that everybody was using the term CHEF very loosely.
Chefschool this and you will be a chef etc.
So I ofcourse after my increased knowledge at cheftalk asked what our credentials would be after graduation.
Boy were many of the students surprised that the name CHEF is earned and that it takes years to become one.
Iam looking forward to my competitive side.
It looks like Iam the only one with a prior college education.
Well I'll keep you guys posted.
I know I will have tons of questions.
Danielle

Yawn

Glad to hear your first day went so well. Really amazed that the class was so unevenly split between men(boys)and women. No girls????? Please keep us posted on your progress.

The first day is always exciting, because you go over what will happen throughout the course and get to meet the people you will be learning alonside with. And more than likely the school days to come will be enjoyable and rewarding! Good Luck!

Hi Danielle! Glad to see your first day went well. I started on Monday too. It seems our class is split more evenly btw male & female students, although I won't even venture a guess as to what our ratio is...I have to admit I've been pretty oblivious to everyone else in the group...

So far my program seems so-so. A bit disappointing actually: I have been trying to get exemptions for business and math courses but the school doesn't seem to be able to offer me alternate courses. Looks like my schedule might leave me a lot of free time for an 'internship' (externship? stage? whatever...) in a way that would be better than taking additional courses.

Well, no homework yet, no cooking til next week. I CAN'T WAIT!!! I hope my professors know what they're talking about; the one teaching my core cooking class has taught (and ONLY taught)for over 30 years. Makes you wonder if she's in touch with the current realities of the business...

Well, Good luck to you and enjoy!! I know I will!

Congrats Danielle!
In reading your posts, one can't help but to be excited for you. Your enthusiasm just shines. I am going to be watching closely for your posts as I have just gotten off the phone with one of the WCI reps. She said that your class is mostly late 20's early 30's - is that the case for your 90/10? It sounds really nice. Good luck. Keep us posted!
