Lightbulb What do you think ?

Hi, I am 29 Swede moving to Scotland, Glazgo.
I understand that this is more American site but still....(i could not find any the UK site)
I am thinking about change my career as Brand manager to ... a cook/chef. All my friends and family adore my cooking, but it is not enough so decided I have to study somewhere. And now look, I found this 5 weeks intensive course with follow.description :

Learn fundamental skills which prepare you for life long achievement and give you confidence to enjoy preparing and hosting parties anywhere……..in a ski chalet, on a yacht, in a Highland Lodge or your own home!

Menu planning – costing, controlling your budget plus special diets;
15 different menus include timbales, roulades, tasty soups, meat, fish, game, vegetables, modern pan sauces, trendy garnishes, puddings and pies;
Breakfasts – imaginative ways to cook an egg and to stuff the croissant!
Delicious nibbles, cheese board and the essential Gluhwein;
REHIS Food Handlers Hygiene Certificate;
Table service and setting;
An introduction to wine by the grape;
Team management, use of equipment and safety at work;
Hints for the hectic host/hostess and chalet cook;

So my question is : what do you think about it ? Will I be able to find a job after that course ? Or will I just improve my home cooking.... This course costs a lot so I do not waste money.

thank you.

Hello ella, and welcome to the Cafe! Sound like alot of good information and techniques to take in, but in all of "5 weeks"! I don't know if that is enough time to be exposed to everything listed there. You said it was an intesive course, looks like to it is. Everyone has a different opinion or some people agree with each other, but I belive that more exposer to these same techniques over a longer period of time would keep a person more intune with what they have to do on a regular basis! Maybe if you already have a good foundation in foodservice experience, then you could take this course as quick refresher, but then again you said it cost alot of money! I would look around at all the schools that are available to you, and then make your decision. I wish you great success in your findings and outcome!
