Red face deciding on a career

I'm a senior in high school and I'm having a tough time deciding on if I want to be a Pastry Chef or Graphic Designer. I would love some advice from some Pastry Chefs on where they went to school and what they had to go through to get to where they are today. I'm moving to Arizona June 2000 and was considering going to Scottsdale Culinary Institute. Otherwise I wanted to be a graphic designer for Gourmet, Food & Wine magazine, or someting else that's food orientated. If you have any advice for me please let me know. I would really appreciate it.

Really depends on what type of life style you want. When I was in school, so many people wanted to be a "Chef". Most of those people all went back to their former careers when they found out the time commitment.

I always thought being a pastry chef was a great career choice in that you can do some really creative work in a medium that everyone loves (sweets), and you get to work early and get to go home early.
