| I am 32 years old, and recently found out due to an injury that I ca no longer be a Plmber. I have always had an interest in cooking, almost finished my AS degree but left for plumbing. I am looking for insight on this change. I have catered parites for groups of 30-50 on my own and have a wide variety of cooking styles. I cook Cajun, Mexican, Italian and alll of the traditional American. I am wondering if I have to be schooled to become a chef. Please help. |

| Fred, You sound like you could get a job cooking by day or evening and go to a part time culinary programme to sharpen your skills.Try a 6 month full time programme at the French Culinary School or try advanced placement at another school. I don't know where you are located but generally there are community colleges that offer such programmes. Look up culinary schools on your web browser. If you need the names of any schools on the east coast, let me know. Good luck! |
