| Hi, does anyone know how I can make a pastry dough similar to that of the McDonalds Fried Apple Pies. If I use normal pastry dough they don't bubble up/blister, when fried and they're not a crispy, it's just not the same.... Should I use puff pastry....anyone know? BappyBug |

| I used to made a dough for samosas that might work for you. I just hope you can scale it down to what you need: 4.8 k all-purpose flour 8 Tablespoons kosher salt 3 pounds Crisco 2 liters water Mix the flour and salt well. Cut in the Crisco and work until small particles. Work in the water and knead until all the water is absorbed, about 15 minutes. Chill, well wrapped in plastic wrap, until needed. Then, roll out to required thickness, fill, seal, and fry. |

| Try this one: CRUST 2 cups flour 1/2 t. salt 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup lard about 1/2 cup of water Sift flour witht he salt. With your fingertips, work butter and lard into flour until mixture resembles coarse course meal. Stir in enough water to make a dough that hold together. Roll out and place a 5 inch saucer to cut out dough.
