| Call me crazy but when off duty, I like to unwind on the computer, reviewing food/cooking websites--you probably do it to, or you wouldn't be reading this now. It reminds me of an OLD episode of Star Trek, when Kirk finds Scotty reading Tech manuals instead of sleeping--his reply: "But Captain, I AM relaxing." I love ChefTalk, and often recommend it to other cooks/chefs I know. Are there other sites that you recommend, either informative, or even just plain food fun? I have several I enjoy linked on a site I run: www.geocities.com/chefsfederation . Love the "Cooking with Gus" daily comic strip! Please check them out, and pass along sites you enjoy. | One of my favorites is www.8legged.com It's called deep fried live. It's a cartoon cooking show with an accident prone octopuss as the host. It's very funny yet informative. They are all real recipes and they give facts on sciences of cooking and such kind of like Alton Browns "Good Eats". |

| Good Eats is an excellant example of the kind of fun and learning out there. Another great site is Mikemenn's Good Eats fan site at www.goodeatsfanpage.com They too have a link to 8legged.

| I've picked apart the Web with a fine toothed combed, and as far as I can tell, Egullet is the center of the online food universe. Is it fun? Hmmmmmmm... That's a tough call. It's definitely not what I call friendly either. I find people talk to themselves more than they talk to each other. But, as pretentious as a lot of these people can get, they know a thing or two about food. |

| Often, fun doesn't have to be 'funny'. I can have good time relaxing reading food comics, recipe sites, or even Gov't food safety code sites( One persons fun...). Scott, I did go to www.egullet.com and it is a great resource site. I'm sure to spend many hours there in the future--thanks

| I have spent a lot of time on eGullet reading, but not posting. The people there sure do seem to know what they are talking about, but it does not seem like the most friendly group of people IMO. I do read a lot of their posts though because these people are very serious about food so I really have learned a ton from them. I also spend a lot of time on the food network boards (Food Network Boards ). They are a great group of people and very easy to talk to.

| That egullet sure looks informative!! Thanks... I have one that has a lot of healthy food info, if anyone is interested in that type of thing. It's http://www.bellybytes.com - more of a nutritional site, but has some interesting articles and recipes, too. Plus a whole section on foods and how they aid your health.

| I post mainly on TechZone checking out reviews on new computer stuff and the occasional visit to the kitchens forum though not many people there. I'll usually unwind by playing games online like Soldiers of Fortune 2, Diablo 2, sometimes Halo. Great way of venting anger and frustration, I highly recommend ![]() |

| www.moleculargastronomy.org isn't much of a site just yet, but I have High Hopes! I'm also a sucker for the more cerebral approaches to food offered at sites like http://www.pierre-gagnaire.com/francais/cdmodernite.htm How good's your french? http://www.relaischateaux.fr also has some cool content in its food section.
