Smile Icelandic lobster tails

Years ago when doing a catering job I found great succes with a presentation of the miniature lobster tails. I purchased them in a bag of 30 for about $50.00 at a retail/wholesale store called Gordons. Does any one out there know of any mail order food companies that would carry such an item?

I remeeember back in '74, back when Red Lobster really didn't have any lobsters on the menu we would get the Icelandic lobster tails. These were about the size of your thumb. They were split, brushed with butter and oven broiled. I also bought hem a couple times at an Air Force commisarry back around the same time. They were one bite, sweet and tasty. I remember Red Lobster gave about 8 on a plate for about 5 bux(remember '74 bux(.
If your talking about 30 per bag I would almost guess slipper lobsters. Several places I worked at used slipper meat. We used to buy the tails for reciepes but one time our sea food guy had to substitute shell on. These were about 3" long. I remember we were paying about $299lb for them at wholesale prices. They were nothing like the Icelandic. The shells are hard like rock shrimp.
Brings back memories. I remember when we could sell a 16-18 oz beachport tail for 12 bux.
