I buy herbs and spices from Penzey's and have bought Cajun items (andouille and tasso) from Jacob's.

I rely on the internet for just about everything! But when you live 3 hours away from a major city, thats what you have to do. Sorry Sysco, but you just dont cut it ;-))

Here's a few of my fav's:

http://www.honolulufish.com/ = Sushi grade Hawaiian fish from the ocean to your door in 20 hours.

http://www.lobels.com/index_lobels.htm = best online butcher PERIOD. Best source for Waygu and Kurobuto. Great for holiday orders of difficult to find meats.

http://www.melissas.com/index.cfm = a Huge array of exotic produce.

http://www.igourmet.com/shoppe/shoppe.asp?cat=1 = Everything from caviar to foie gras to 50 year old Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena.

http://www.pacificrim-gourmet.com/ = If its Asian.. It's here

Thumbs up I buy as much as possible on the internet....

whenever I want special ingredients for a party, etc I usually buy online. Its so great to get special meats and fresh fish. I also like to give unique foods for gifts. Try this website, they really have a wonderful selection of food websites, whatever you are looking for, its a food portal site.
www.food411.com -great resource.

Default Wine & Meat

My father has sent my husband and I a package from Omaha steaks every year for the past 4 or 5 years. The animals are not grass-fed or anything particularly special like that.. but since they're vacuum sealed, they last a very long time in the freezer.

I also cashed in some Amex points a few times, and bought wine from 800wine.com.

Oh year.. and there's a baking catalog I've purchased from.. the name escapes me. darn!

I suspect that now since I'm reading Bourdain's cookbook, i'm going to have to start a list of more esoteric ingredients to hunt down..
