anyone keeping up with this short series on pbs? it's brilliant. some of whats being cooked you may not want to take notes on but the exploration of the role food plays in bonding and defining community, family, ethnicity etc. is great.

I caught part of it last night, last episode. I enjoyed what I saw but it didn't seem particularly coherent as a whole. Phil

yeah, they kind of ride that diversity theme into the ground. still, i was pleased with the different take. it certainly isn't your usual food show. a tough subject was tackled when the makah whale hunt was discussed-in a positive light, yet.

I caught a couple of episodes and thought it was a fascinating approach to the subject of food. It helps (those who want to be helped) to understand what food means to a culture and makes room for food and eating as a ritual rather than just keeping body and soul together. Jock
