Supposed to be a cross of Boston Bibb and Romaine. Haven't seen it in my area and wondereed if anyone had tried it out.

Heard of it (in a book on organics I worked on) but haven't seen. Here in NYC we're the last to get anything new.

Default Sweet Gem lettuce

This lettuce is just becoming available on a large scale. It is now in Wal*Mart
in Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana, will soon be in Safeway in Northern
California, is in Hannaford in the Northeast, Price Chopper also in the
Northeast, Lowes and Ingles in the Southeast, and distribution is growing.

I have heard from various chefs that they are glad that this is finally "out there" after having been so prolific in Europe (especially the U.K.) for so long!
