I can't say I'm surprised that prices have gone up so much in 10 years, but the extent to which price increases have out-paced inflation is shocking. Just the same, it seems like there are still plenty of people who are willing to pay more for good food. I am, for better or worse, among them.

Also, I wonder if other cities have had similar explosions in restaurant growth? I'd be interested in seeing a similar article about Las Vegas.

Good article- thanks for posting the link. I see two restaurants I've eaten at in the article: Arun and Tru. Both were worth every penny!

My pleasure - I really do believe that Chicago is one of the best places for eating/cooking, and it's interesting to see how a lot of the city's big name restaurants match up.

I also really want to make my way to Yoshi's now to support their committment to lower prices. cheers to them!
