Default nut and other oils -storage

Hi,

I'm interested in purchasing other types of oils, like macadamia oil and avocado oil.
Should i store these in the fridge or just keep it in a cool, dark and dry place to avoid rancidity?

thx

Definitely the fridge. And make sure you buy them from somewhere with good turnover.

Hmmm, haven't heard that one before. Might be the case that it solidifies quickly in the fridge so people might panic?

Monounsaturated oils can go rancid at room temp within 1-2 months. Polyunsaturated ones are a little less sensitive.

From an Avocado Oil Manufacturer Website

Stability and Storage

Unlike wine, olive oil and avocado oil are best the day they are made
and will not improve with age. They are harmed by light and heat.
That is why Olivado New Zealand uses only dark bottles for avocado
oil and olive oil, to prevent sunlight/fluorescent light from prematurely
aging the oil. We also recommend you store your oil in a cool
cupboard, where the temperature will not rise above 30°C, but don't
refrigerate or it will solidify.
Unless you are buying a small amount of oil from a source that you're certain is selling you freshly pressed oil and you plan on using it within a month or two, I'd refrigerate it.

Thx for the help and info about mono & polyunsaturated oil differences in storage. Didn't know that before..
I guess once it's opened, it's going to the fridge. I just hope it'll be easy enough to pour if i need it for breakfast..
