| could also mix diced pineapple into the meat before broiling, then glaze with garlic and mango. the possibilities are endless. Maybe too, a mozzarella, cheddar blend; or better yet, port wine cheese?

| Used to do a Maui burger back in the day...equal parts ground beef and pork, a little liquid smoke, and diced red onion, mix well and patty to desired size. Definatly a Char-grilled item, cook to med well, then used to serve it on hawaiian sweet bread with crisp greens, slices of lomi lomi tomato(though any type will work) and a sweet and SPICY mango relish. Serve on a banana leaf with sweet potato pommes frites, and a kaluahaMilkshake...good stuff. |
