Start with a plane ticket to Maui and a pound of ground beef....

Tongue coolj's hawaiian burger

charbroil the burger patty, baste with honey garlic sauce. top with a grilled pineapple ring and some mozza. dress the bun however you like. it is also excellant with the addition of some fried bacon and mushrooms. hope this helps.

Default Or..........

could also mix diced pineapple into the meat before broiling, then glaze with garlic and mango. the possibilities are endless. Maybe too, a mozzarella, cheddar blend; or better yet, port wine cheese?

Used to do a Maui burger back in the day...equal parts ground beef and pork, a little liquid smoke, and diced red onion, mix well and patty to desired size. Definatly a Char-grilled item, cook to med well, then used to serve it on hawaiian sweet bread with crisp greens, slices of lomi lomi tomato(though any type will work) and a sweet and SPICY mango relish. Serve on a banana leaf with sweet potato pommes frites, and a kaluahaMilkshake...good stuff.
