Wink Campbell's Soups

Does anyone know what the Campbell company puts in their soups when they make them? I'm wondering how they are made because the instructions on the cans say to add water to the mix already inside the can and heat it to simmering on the stove.

I'm also wondering if these are ok for you? I was just wondering about this because when I was still young, my family always ate the Cream of Mushroom at lunch and I soon got bored of it because we never ate anything else. I couldn't do a whole lot about it back then because my parents wouldn't listen. These Campbell soups don't really taste good to me; they are rather tasteless with the water added to them like that.

I have also wondered about it while watching the commercial on TV about the soups that the Progresso company makes. On the commerical, Cambell's soups and Progresso's soups are compared for taste and texture, to see which one is better and everyone always ends up liking Progresso better.

I haven't eaten Cambell's soups so much any more since I was 13. The only time I eat them is when a recipe I am making, such as baked chicken, calls for a cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, etc. This is better for me than eating a tasteless soup. Anyone care to share thoughts, suggestions, recipes, etc., with me here? These will be GREATLY appriciated!

Dear Afra:

I never use any pre-prepared ingredients in my cooking! It is almost a religious convictions for me.

I have to admit that "Buena Sera Mrs. Campbell" is one of my most favorite movies!

Afra, I agree with Papa. Don't use prepared foods in your cooking, you can really tatse the difference. Canned soups(both brands you mentioned)are full of salt, preservatives, food colorings, and additives. Read labels, stay away from "just add water" type foods. Fresh vegaetables are best, but if you can't get them choose frozen next, and canned as a last possible choice. I hoped we helped.
