Post cooking school

i was just looking for information on cooking courses and schools. i found 2 professional culinary institutes and 1 local college offering similar program. any ideas for me. i am a family man in the auto trade and i want to get out before it kills me. so education would be part time. well, what i ideally want to do is own a breakfast and lunch shop. thanks

Hello Aspeedemon, and welcome to cheftalk! Well I don't know about the schools in your area, but hopefully some of are friends from Canada can help you out on this one. Here in Texas, I attend a local Community College which offers part-time classes during the day and the evening also. Hope you find what your looking for.

Hi Aspeedemon, there are courses offered at Camosun College in Victoria, Vancouver Community College, UCC in Kamloops, and at OUC in Kelowna. I'm a little biased about the programs in Kamloops & Kelowna though, because I did my one year cooking program at UCC and my apprenticeship in Kelowna.

LOL - Cooking will kill you too but at a much nicer/slower pace!

Good luck with your new pursuit.
