| I love lychees.. fresh ones, not in cans. They fiinally arrived at our local Asian market. I brought some in to the office and some of my colleagues are mighty puzzled. ![]() |

| And at coffee breaks, you can have seed-spitting contests! They make a lovely sorbet: puree, add simple syrup and sake, and freeze.

| Let's try this again. Was at Whole Foods on Friday and saw they had some in. Unfortunately I didn't pick any up. Went back yesterday to get some Grouper for dinner and was about to buy some to make a Sorbet and the were out. None till later this week. So instead the had just received a case of Morels and just as I went to reach for some I felt this thwak on the back of my head. There was my wife asking me what the heck was I thinking buying those at 47.50 a pound. But, but, but,!?! Not on your life and you can forget about the lychees too. Oh well But I did get to make a nice peach sorbet in their place.Last edited by oldschool1982 : 07-05-2006 at 12:03 PM. |

| Wow, lychees... that gives me some ideas... rum drinks? What should I look for when purchasing? Any tips? Any uses in savory dishes? |
