| Hello everyone, I would like to find out if anyone know of a good cookbook with recipes to make your own flavored oils. I would like to give it as a Christmas gift. If anyone knows of a good one please let me know. Thanks |

| You might have to look at the Web sites that deal in used books, since this came out in 1990, but try Simple Cuisine: The Easy, New Approach to Four-Star Cooking by Jean-Georges Vongerichten (published by Prentice Hall Press, may now be available through Simon & Schuster; ISBN 0-13-195059-2). It has four "building blocks": juices, vinaigrettes, flavored oils, and vegetable broths, and then chapters on using them. J-GV was just getting known when this came out; now, of course, he's a superstar. ![]()

| I don't think you really need a cook book to infuze oils, just make a trip to your local market and see whats available to you, and just pick and chose, I would throw some small peppers and and pepper corns into the mix for variety. just use your imagination. my friends are not worth the trouble, I would just go to target. Sounds like a nice gift though. |
