Default San Marzano Tomato Product

I love using the Ethnic Grocer website for everything from toasted sesame oil to San Marzano Tomatos! The are prompt and trustworthy and if you don't see something that you want, I'm sure they will try very hard to get it in for you. I've been using them for years!

Does it matter what brand of san marzano tomatoes you buy? My grocery store has a couple of different brands, and there's a price range from $1.89 to $4

Absolutely not! There really is absolutely no difference whether you get your San Marazano's from the IGA or online-As long as you are confident in the supplier not to put garbage tomatoes in the can/jar instead of the real thing. I really put this post up for people like me who are away from civilization and live in the mountains or other remote spots! If there isn't a UPS truck infront of my house at least once a month something is definitely wrong! HAHAHA

It's hard for me to believe that you'd be getting real San Marzano tomatoes at those prices, especially at the lower end of the price range. Read the labels very carefully. There are a lot of tomatoes out there trading on the San Marzano name and reputation that are not even packed, much less grown, in Italy.
