Hi! I was wondering if there was one of you who had some knowledge about GMO's. I heard they just got the first two studies back on the effect of GMO on health. I am a freak about that and eat all organic food. But I was curious if someone with greater knowledge could explain me more about what they are and can do to the body. Thanks!

This is something I've been concerned about also. Here our dear government has decided we do not need to know what foods are GM. so you will not find that info on any food labels or packages.. I have this site in my faves as its pretty informative.. Still lots more to learn though.. Be sure and click on the shoppers guide.. You'd be surprised what foods are on the lists! http://www.truefoodnow.org/

As the managing director of a major heirloom seed-saving organization, you can just imagine my feelings about GMOs---or frankenfoods, as we call them. That aside, however, a recent British study indicates there might (and I stress "might") be a relationship between some genetically modified veggies and the incidence of cancer in lab rats. Just one more thing to throw into the mix.

GM foods are not popular in the UK. I would not wish to eat ANYTHING that was GM.

Considering that virtually everything we eat (save seafood) has been genetically modified by humans to better meet our needs, through selective genetic breeding and cross-breeding, I'm not all that concerned with the modern shortcut. The public debate is long on hysteria and very short on facts.

I respect your right to your view.... However, we in the UK have fought long and hard NOT to accept GM foods here... Although the Govt has given permission for a number of trials, most of them have been compromised by eco-warriors. I have read, extensively, over the years, about GM foods. I do not wish to eat them - I do not wish my children to eat them.

| I certainly respect your views, though the genetics of plants and animals have been modified by Mendelian selection for quite a long time. I'm confident that, if any of you find yourselves a victim of, say, cancer, you will resoundingly refuse to be treated by any medicines that might possibly have been developed through the application of molecular biology. Mike
