| all i wanna add is tomato sauce, make it taste like vegetarian vege soup w/o the veges, just the liquid. do i need to simmer it for a long time or just heat it in the microwave? should i add tomato sauce or tomato soup? Last edited by forkeeps; 03-20-2007 at 08:54 PM. |

| Not quite sure what you're starting from. If it's water plus small chunks of onion, carrot, celery, maybe some sprigs of parsley, mushrooms, turnips, little bits of other vegetables (even some chopped tomato, but NOT broccoli or cabbage or other really strong-flavored vegs, and not potatoes, which will make the stock cloudy) -- just about 30 minutes is enough. Vegetable stock does not get better with long simmering. And to do what you want, I would add a little olive oil and some good tomato sauce.
