| In Spain a common home breakfast is pan con tomate, toasted bread with tomato, olive oil and garlic. In Ireland an easy filling meal is coddle, a skillet stew made with sausage, bacon and potatoes. In Japan, curry rice is the quick meal of choice (meat and potatoes in curry gravy and plain rice). Anyone out there with other easy or quick (or both) home cooking recipes from around the world? |

| My website is dedicated to simple home-cooked food - primarily Chinese food. Some examples include egg fried rice, sweet & sour pork ribs, stir fried mixed vegetables and roast pork. ![]() |

| What about spaghetti carbonara? That is my go-to dish when I can't think of anything else to make, and it takes little more time than bringing a big pot of water to a boil. Chop up some bacon or guanciale or pancetta, sauté until crisp, remove from the pan and sauté some onion or shallot (not traditional, but I love the addition). In the meantime, beat some eggs with grated Parmesan and a lot of black pepper. Cook spaghetti, drain, add to sauté pan, stir in egg mixture and cooked bacon -- and there you go!
