Wink Frozen egg whites

Hi gang!
I froze egg whites in little containers (sets of 2 and 4) so long ago I don't remember when! Are they safe? What's the rule for frozen egg whites?

Sure, they are safe. If you don't use them after 6 months, throw them out.

I would have to agree with David and say three months at the outside, but I'm only a recent culinary grad. As long as they weren't thawed and refrozen, they should be okay.

USDA guidelines for storing frozen eggs state that they can be kept for up to one year. A good basic rule for anything is, if you don't know how long it's been there, to throw it away and make sure you label and date everything afterwards.

SIX MONTHS? I don't know, that dosen't sound right to me. I think three months would be the safest bet. I'm going to do some homework on this. momoreg, why do you say six months? I respect your stature, but I must disagree?
