Post Bread middle????

I am drawing a blank....... what is the inside of bread called.... the outside is the crust and the inside is the ______? Someone please fill in the blank... my mind is food fried and I can't think of it!!!

i have heard people refer to it as the "crumb." is this what you were looking for? like, as in this bread has a coarse or a fine crumb.

In French it is called mie. I just looked it up in the French English dictionary and it says:

Soft part of the bread, crumb (of the loaf) bread with the crust remove.
