Sparkles, the post was deleted because of content; things were starting to get a bit too graphic for a bulletin board frequented by minors. Sometimes as adults, we've got to accept not having fun and having our style cramped for the benefit of children. Not to say that it wasn't a fun discussion, by the way, just inappropriate for cheftalk. Also, Cape Chef was getting a little too worked up!

About the "adults area", the logistics behind setting that kind of thing up would be a bit much.

Again, sorry your topic was deleted, but the site administrator, Nicko, felt it was the thing to do. As did myself and several other moderators.

ChefTalk is rated with RSAC which is a family friendly rating. Some the verbage that in the thread that you are talking about was completely in violation of the RSAC rating system. This the standard we have set for the site and it has always worked well for us. We enjoy be a clean place to hang out and we do have many parents who email and fax us applications for the children who are 13 and under so they can do research on the site. I have spoken with several other ChefTalk members and all felt that although the topic was funny it was a little too graphic.

Let me also say that ChefTalk is not in the habit of deleting posts or threads, but if it something that compromises our standards then we really have no choice but to delete it. If ever there is a question about a particular topic then please feel free to email me or one of the moderator's.

Lastly, it is clearly outlined in the ChefTalk Cafe community guidlines that we reserve the right to edit or delete anything we deem unfit for the Cafe.

Hope that helps to understand why the post was deleted.

Sparkle,

I agree with Nicko and Greg. Besides kids there are also adults that were uncomfortable with some of the language or concepts.

I am sure there are other Cheftalk members you know of that may want to continue the conversation. Prehaps, they could reach you (or vice versa) with any further ideas via private messaging or your Cheftalk e-mail address.
