Wink Bamboo salt? I give . . .

I am so excited - an Asian supermarket opened close to home! Hubby and I went there today and wow!!! I am far from an expert, but it looked like it carried just about anything you could wish for in terms of ingredients for non-subcontinental Asian cooking, and at totally reasonable prices. And this place is quite literally a supermarket-sized facility. Beautiful fish (including monkfish at $2.99 a lb.), gorgeous produce (durian, aka jackfruit - your secrets will be mine!!), meats . . . we're talking serious food here.

One ingredient I saw that puzzled me completely was something called "bamboo salt." Can anyone enlighten me on this?

This is so cool - I'm going to be bringing home some surprises, since I can't read a lot of the packaging . . .

Marye,

For info on bamboo salt click here.

By the way bamboo salt seems to be used in skin care products. I don't know if it is the same salt though.
