| My grammy taught me to pour the wet or sponge into a well in the flour on a board and blend then knead. Knead for 10 to 15 min. Great theropy, even better than vacuming! ![]()

| How do you make bread without an electic mixer with a dough hook? Could you just need or mix with your hands. I am making home style French bread or would like to and it says use a mixer. [ March 02, 2001: Message edited by: wannabe ] |

| Mix it with a wooden spoon, then turn onto a lightly floured board and knead. You will have to knead a long time, until the dough gets smooth and soft and elastic, as they say, like a baby's bottom. |
