Default James Beard Foundation Awards

The results of the 2007 James Beard Foundation Awards were announced Monday night. The general categories include chefs, restaurants, journalism, books, and broadcast media. Any comments on the winners or the short lists?

Just a quick note to say that everyone should check out Leite's Culinaria, the Web site picked as best. It is!! (And David is a dear friend and colleague )

Also, I'm thrilled that Lorna Sass's book Whole Grains Every Day, Every Way won for Healthy Focus. Ahem.

Copyedited, which means I corrected spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. and did a little fact checking. But I had very little to do, really, because Lorna is such a pro! I don't benefit (financially) from any book I work on after I'm done, but some of them are just so good I want everyone to know about them. This is definitely one of those! There is so much good, useful information, and the recipes that I've had from it are just wonderful (try the Aramanth, Quinoa, and Corn Chowder on page 118).

CONGRATULATIONS! Copyediting takes so much skill and patience (not to mention brains and common sense ). What a genuine thrill it must be to be part of such a solid project. The book sounds great.
