Default Some Camp Cooking

It was reunion time last week so I was off camping and cooking with my brothers and sisters and their families.

I cooked some ribeye roasts for a boneless "choice" rib (Prime was out of the budget).

And here you'll see some of the rest of meal. On the left is some garlic mashed potatoes, then the au jus, then the carrots. I ran the potatoes and butter simmered garlic through a food mill for simplicity.

We had some philly cheesesteaks/frenchdip from the leftovers. Other meals included flour tortilla wraps with a tasty cream cheese cucumber dip, shepherd's pie in the dutch oven, an enchilada casserole in the dutch oven. Lots of fruit, fresh and dried, a couple of salads, some rhubarb cobbler an peach cobbler. There was still more, but that's most of it.

How many people were you cooking for?

"Can't boil water" indeed! That all looks great.

There were 23 of us this year. I didn't cook all of that listed, just what I pictured and one breakfast. I pitched in on the cheesesteaks.

Well, with a group of 23 including a baby under 1 year old, you're not going to go rough it too much.
